July 25 St. James (51) Parish Feast

On the last journey to Jerusalem, their mother Salome came to the Lord and said to Him: "Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom" (Matthew 20:21). And the two brothers, still ignorant of the spiritual nature of the Messianic Kingdom, joined with their mother in this eager ambition (Mark 10:37). And on their assertion that they are willing to drink the chalice that He drinks of, and to be baptized with the baptism of His sufferings, Jesus assured them that they will share His sufferings (Mark 5:38-39).: Life of St. James Get to know our Patron Saint:... Largest Roman Catholic Country

BUENOS AIRES: Brazil may be the largest Roman Catholic country in the world, but its image is marked by its beaches and Carnival much more than by its approach to religion.

    Scourge of abortion

Statement from His Grace, Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto re: Appointment of Henry Morgentaler to the Order of Canada

"That the scourge of abortion be lifted from our land, that those who promote it may be brought to a change of heart, that all who are tempted to abortion may be lovingly helped to protect the precious gift of life, and that all who have experienced an abortion may be comforted with the healing gift of love."

    Order of Canada

    Heb11:11-16
By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised: wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea-shore, innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own. And if indeed they had been mindful of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.

Below you will find section of news articles which relate the events of the order of Canada, above is the text from the Letter to the Hebrews from which the Order's motto came from. There is a small problem, the "they desired a better country" refers to the Heavenly one, hence any efforts which we make here on earth forgetting about heaven become useless. Order of Canada is a useless award because it contradicts itself. This certainly is a warning to all Canadians against the politics of our democratically elected powers. Notice how Morgentaler blames the church of dividing Canadians on the abortion issue. The events surrounding Canada Day this past week are a perfect opportunity to launch a country wide debate:
    Freedom of Speech
    Abortion - a murder
Birthrate - lost lives of Canadians to abortion
Support of Families in our tax system
Why pay for an abortion from public healthcare funds?
Perhaps we should pay double the amount abortion costs to a woman who gives birth to a child in Canada.
What does United Church do when it organizes meetings in celebration of Morgentaler's award.

Comment by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops on the awarding of the Order of Canada To Dr. Henry Morgentaler 03 July 2008

Prayer to St. James the Apostle
O glorious Apostle, Saint James, who by reason of thy fervent and generous heart was choen by Jesus to be witness of His glory on Mount Tabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane; thou, whose very name is a symbol of warfare and victory: obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending warfare of this life, that, having constantly and generously followed Jesus, we may be voctors in the strife and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven. Amen.
