|Praised be Jesus Christ|Laudetur Iesus Christus|
At the beginning of this new liturgical year, the Church asks us to meditate on a liturgical spirituality. But to acquire this kind of knowledge, we have to be sensitive to the themes and flavour of the different seasons we celebrate throughout the whole year.
The way we participate in the Eucharist or the way we enter into private prayer is shaped, explicitly or implicitly, by the context that this liturgical year provides every day. The mystery of the Incarnation and all the implications of the Christ-event are far too great for us to appreciate all at once, because each of the Christian mysteries brings its own special grace.

As a caregiver often working with the terminally ill I found this book to be most helpful. However, the information and stories shared in this book were written for anyone, especially families who have journeyed with a dying person or are on that journey now.
“Final Gifts” was written by two hospice nurses who began to notice common themes of the needs of people approaching death. By listening carefully to their communication attempts, they were able to relieve anxieties experienced for many different reasons by a dying person.
Their writing style is simple and they share many true stories to help illustrate how we can help those who are nearing the end of their journey on earth. I believe this book not only helps the dying but is most helpful to those of us left behind. Although it is extremely difficult to journey with the dying, they often leave you with precious gifts.
This book will help you discover some of those gifts.
