The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario has issued a draft policy entitled "Physicians and the Ontario Human Rights Code." It deals with physicians' obligations with respect to engaging in medical acts to which they may have a conscientious objection and referring patients for such procedures.

What is happening in Lhasa is the consequence of the denial of fundamental human rights. We must demand freedom for pro-democracy dissidents and religious believers, people like three bishops who disappeared in police custody years ago.
The Olympic torch’s “harmonious journey” has turned into a ridiculous farce. Anti-China demonstrations are happening along the relay’s path in a parody worthy of a movie by the Keystone Cops. Still this is having positive repercussions; at long last, the fate of the Tibetan people, subjected for 50 years to a cultural and religious genocide, has become a central concern for world public opinion.

While the United Nations has disgraced itself over the years with sporadic eruptions of the first three negatives, it added another one last March 28 when its Human Rights Council passed a disturbing resolution that directs the body’s expert on free speech to report on “individuals and news media for negative comments on Islam.” In effect, the UN will now become the Islamic world’s censorship watchdog, snooping out undefined acts of Islamophobia around the globe.
